Our reductions are available for rent only; we don’t sell parts or scores. (We do have some unreduced scores for sale with our rehearsal marks, as noted in the catalog, if you want a copy to freely mark up.) Prices shown are in U.S. dollars, and are good for the entire rental period, regardless of the number of performances.
We will ship printed music to you, which you must return after the rental period. Electronic copies (PDF, etc.) are not available.
We don’t lend out perusal scores, but are happy to provide samples online. If there’s something you’d like to see that’s not on our samples page, please contact us.
Orchestrations are optimized for the instrumentations shown in the catalog. There are no optional instruments, nor is it possible to easily add back an instrument which was eliminated in the reduction.

Rental fees plus one-way shipping charges are due 7 days in advance of shipping. You may pay by check (U.S. funds) or credit card; we will arrange for payment when we send the rental agreement (do not provide your credit card information now).
You are responsible for shipping charges to and from California. One-way shipping charges are typically $15 to $35 in the United States, $35 to $70 to Canada, and $75 to $125 overseas, depending on weight and destination; we do not charge any handling fees. We normally use USPS Priority Mail (air mail), which is economical and quick. Priority Mail International is delivered by the destination country’s post. Please let us know if you would like the materials shipped another way. You must arrange for return shipping when the time comes.
For two operas shipped at the same time, there is a 15% discount off the rental fee for the second opera.
California customers pay applicable sales tax.
International orders may be subject to customs charges or taxes at the time of delivery. Check with your local officials.
Prices listed are for a rental period of up to three months, regardless of the number of performances. Let us know if you need the materials longer than this; each extra month is an additional 25%. Music is due back in our office two weeks after your last performance (four weeks for orders outside the U.S.) There is a fee for items returned late.
We send out parts free of markings from previous renters, except for string bowings and harp pedalings, since questions from the orchestra about such markings can waste valuable rehearsal time. We expect to get the parts back in the same condition: any markings you make in part or score, with the exception of string bowings and harp pedalings, must be fully erased before returning. We will assess a penalty of up to $250 for music returned unerased.
Titles sometimes sell out, so please order as far in advance as possible so we can be sure to have materials on hand. You need not pay the rental fee until 7 days prior to shipping. We may charge a rush fee if a title is out of stock and you want it shipped less than 7 days after ordering.
Customers outside the United States should be aware that if there are customs delays, final delivery times can be as long as three weeks.
COVID-19: note: Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund, credit, or extension of the rental period if your production is postponed or cancelled due to the pandemic, so please take that into consideration before ordering.
We supply the orchestra parts and a conductor’s score, but no voice, chorus, or continuo parts (piano-vocal scores are readily available from sheet music dealers and booksellers). Be sure to specify the number of string parts you need. The standard quantities are Violin I: 4; Violin II: 4; Viola: 3; Cello: 2; and Bass: 2. Additional string parts rent for $20 each. If you require fewer than standard, we would appreciate knowing that; it won’t lower the rental price but it may reduce your shipping charges.
We endeavor to provide string parts with consistent bowings given what we have onhand, but cannot ensure that. If you would like us to instead try for clean copies, let us know.
Extra copies of the score rent for $90 each (please indicate in the additional instructions below).
